Piper Completes Final Layoffs

After announcing the termination of its light business jet program last October, Piper Aircraft has completed the final layoffs resulting from the move. Although 30 fewer jobs were cut than originally anticipated, Piper still released 55 contract employees and reduced its regular workforce by nearly 120. The company is planning to contribute between $5 and $10 million to capital improvements and product upgrades. The company continues to work with government agencies to fulfill agreements made in a previous incentive package.
