Earlier on in the day, Paul Ryan continued to attack President Barack Obama on a number of different issues. Some of these issues include the jobs, the current economic situation, energy, and a recording of Obama that dates back a total of 14 years. The recording is supposed to be of Barack Obama claiming that he believes heavily in wealth redistribution. For two days in a row, Ryan has been addressing several issues that President Barack Obama has seemed to have not fixed, including the economy, which is still struggling after the end of the Great Recession. The audio of Obama is supposed to be payback to the audio that was recently released in which Romney is shown talking to other individuals at a private fundraiser. In that recording, Romney is seen telling those who attended the fundraiser that he will not be supported by roughly 47 percent of voters because the vast majority of them depend heavily on the government.

As a payback, Ryan said, “You know, President Obama said he believes in redistribution.” Ryan also said, “Mitt Romney and I are not running to redistribute the wealth. Mitt Romney and I are running to help Americans create wealth.” The audio recording of President Barack Obama was taken back at the Loyola University over a decade ago, back in 1998. At that point in time when the recording was taken, Obama was only a state senator in Illinois. While he discussed the efforts he was taking to help assist the working poor, he was heard saying, “There has been a systematic — I don’t think it’s too strong to call it a propaganda campaign — against the possibility of government action and its efficacy.” Obama also made it clear that the government needed to go with the notion that everyone is in it together and that nobody should ever be left behind.

In the recording, which has since been posted on the popular YouTube website, Obama can be heard saying, “I think the trick is figuring out how do we structure government systems that pool resources and hence, facilitate some redistribution because I actually believe in redistribution, at least at a certain level to make sure everybody’s got a shot.” In an announcement on Tuesday, Ryan also noted that several of the coal mines in a number of different states will be shut down, which is yet another reason he has attacked Obama. When standing in front of supporters, Ryan said, “You notice we come around here pretty often these days.” He continued by saying, “You know why? Because Virginians matter, you really do matter.”
