WebMD to Cut 250 Jobs as Advertising Falls

A provider of online medical services, WebMD, is slated to drop 250 employees to cut expenses. WebMd’s ad revenue from drug companies is expected to drop as the drug companies are encountering decreased revenue due to patent expirations and product delays. These employee cuts will allow WebMd to become “leaner and more nimble” according to Chief Executive Officer Cavan Redmond.
