Xerox to Eliminate 275 Jobs in Upstate NY

Xerox will eliminate 275 jobs in the Rochester, New York area.

The layoffs by the Stamford, Connecticut-based office equipment maker are part of a restructuring announced last fall, that includes trimming 3,000 jobs from its worldwide payroll of 57,000.

Xerox employs about 7,300 in the Rochester area, most of them at its manufacturing hub in the suburb of Webster.

The layoffs account for nearly 4% of its regional work force.
