Ohio to Lose Over 70,000 Jobs in 2009

Ohio employment will be hit hard by the recession this year, with Cincinnati expected to lose 20,500 jobs by Q4 2009, according to a US Conference of Mayors study.

Columbus is expected to lose 7,700 jobs by Q4, from a work force of more than 948,000. Cleveland, with 1.06 million jobs, is forecast to see 22,200 positions disappear by the Fall; and Cincinnati is projected to lose 20,500 jobs from its employment total of nearly 1.04 million.
