dark_knightThe studio who produced 2008’s highest grosser, The Dark Knight, will be cutting 10% of their employees. Warner Brothers Entertainment announced that they would be losing 800 jobs. Most of the cuts, according to the corporation, are in IT and support services.

“The changing entertainment business landscape, shifting consumer demand and the overall state of the economy have affected companies around the world,” Said Barry Meyer, the studio’s chairman. “And Warner Brothers is not immune to these factors.”

The studio also plans to outsource an unspecified number of jobs to India and Poland.

After a year of cost-reduction moves, Warner Brothers merged with their sister company.

The Dark Knight brought in close to $1 billion worldwide at the box office, and will continue to rake in money for the studio through DVD sales.
