Harland Clarke Cancels Checks for Workers

Harland Clarke plans to shut down its Glen Burnie, Maryland check printing plant, according to the state labor department.

The Texas subsidiary of M&F Worldwide expects to close the Anne Arundel County plant by the end of March, along with another plant in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Neither of the closures are directly related to the economy, Harland Clarke spokesperson Donna Hinkelman said, but rather to an ongoing analysis of the company’s plants and to market conditions.
