Bridgestone Cuts 67 at Illinois Plant
Post Views 0Bridgestone Americas announced today that its tire operations division will lay of 67 hourly employees from its plant in Bloomington, Illinois on March 1st.
The Nashville-based company attributes the cuts to a decrease in demand for small and medium-size off-road tires.
The company has reduced production to accommodate the drop in sales, and also eliminated discretionary overtime, reassigned workers from off-road tire production to other areas, and implemented a hiring freeze.
Bridgestone Americas is a subsidiary of Bridgestone, the nation’s largest tire and rubber company.
