Metavante & Fidelity Merger to Cost Jobs

In the merger between Brown Deer, Wisconsin’s Metavante Technologies with Fidelity National Information Services, some of Metavante’s 2,300 employees are expected to lose their jobs.

The management of both firms will decide over the next two months where to cut jobs.

Metavante’s Milwaukee-area locations include the Brown Deer headquarters and offices in the Park Place office park. The company also has offices in Menomonee Falls and at Schlitz Park. Metavante also runs a data center in Oak Creek.

The company, formerly known as M&I Data Services, was spun off by Marshall & Ilsley of Milwaukee in November 2007.
