West Virginia Miners Out of Work
Post Views 5A two month production stoppage at the Pinnacle Mine in Wyoming County, West Virginia will begin tomorrow, putting 200 people out of work for at least eight weeks.
The Green Ridge Number One Mine has also been idled. Cliffs Natural Resources owns Pinnacle Mining Company, which operates both sites.
The idling of Green Ridge, along with cuts to operations at the Pinnacle Preparation Plant, could impact almost 100 workers.
Also, Massey Energy has idled the Black Castle Mine in Boone County, laying off 300.
