Delta Dental to Yank 93 Jobs

Delta Dental of California will cut 93 full-time jobs at its offices in Rancho Cordova, as the firm loses state funding for Medi-Cal adult dental benefits.

Delta Dental will cut 71 staff positions and 22 white collars.

The state is cutting the entire $260 million annual program, which provided dental care to 3 million low-income California residents.

Delta Dental of California has the equivalent of 1,505 full-time staff in Rancho Cordova.

Delta Dental is the largest dental plan system in the United States. The Delta Dental Plans Association is comprised of 39 independent Delta Dental member companies operating in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. These member companies provide coverage to 50 million people, enrolled in over 88,000 groups.
