Tennessee Lost 1,500 Jobs in Late May
Post Views 0State of Tennessee lost 1,472 jobs just in the two weeks between May 18 and June 1st, according to the state’s Department of Labor & Workforce Development.
Department store Goody’s laid off 565 workers in Knox County, and the Memphis school district cut 320 jobs, amongst other losses.
Tennesee’s unemployment rate climbed to 9.9% in April, the highest in 25 years.
