UAB Health Cutting 245 Jobs
Post Views 8The University of Alabama at Birmingham Health System is cutting 245 jobs.
One hundred and sixty-four positions will be eliminated from the UAB Hospital, UAB Highlands and the UAB Health System. Another 81 employees will be cut, but hired back into jobs curently held by contractors.
The layoffs target support services unrelated to patient care. In addition, hours and overtime will be cut.
The UAB Health System is a partnership between UAB and the University of Alabama Health Services Foundation (UAHSF). The UAHSF is a private, not-for-profit medical practice made up of the faculty of the UAB School of Medicine. The UAB Health System employs over 10,000 people.
