PGIPolymer Group will close its plant in North Little Rock, Arkansas, laying off 140 workers.

Some production will go to the firm’s plant in Benson, North Carolina.

Thirty percent of the workers at the Little Rock plant will be let go this September. The remainder will have jobs until the factory is shut down in March 2010.

The plant makes automobile trunk linings and backing for carpet. The firm abandoned its automotive line last year.
