Walmart Employing 300 in Texas

A new Walmart Supercenter opening in Penitas, Texas has brought 300 jobs to the town of 3,500.

The Supercenter will generate up to $400,000 in sales tax revenue.

Wal-Mart Stores is an American public corporation that runs a chain of large, discount department stores. It is the world’s largest public corporation by revenue, according to the 2008 Fortune Global 500. Founded by Sam Walton in 1962, Wal-mart is the largest private employer in the US, and also the largest grocery retailer.

Wal-Mart employs more than 2.1 million people worldwide in 7,900 stores in 15 countries.
