ppd_160x120Clinical research company PPD is eliminating 270 jobs in North America, almost 5% of its 5,800-person workforce.

The firm blames the global economic meltdown and its effect on PPD’s clients. The cuts go into effect July 16th.

Based in Wilmington, North Carolina, Pharmaceutical Product Development, or PPD, is a contract research organization that provides clinical trial development, management, and post approval services for pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
