continentalteves_160x120Continental Teves will hire 338 people in Fletcher, North Carolina over the next five years.

The company will invest $30 million into its Fletcher plant, which manufactures brake systems and components. Continental will get a state grant equal to 60% of the state personal income tax withholdings derived from the creation of the new jobs.

The new jobs will pay an average of $36,000 plus benefits. The facility currently employs 288 people.

Continental Automotive Systems, founded in 1906 by Alfred Teves, is a leading brake and electronics supplier to the automotive industry. It is comprised of two units, Continental Teves and Continental Temic. Continental Temic’s focus is on auto electronics while Continental Teves is known as a developer and manufacturer of hydraulic and electronic brakes and safety systems; stability and chassis control systems and electronic air suspension systems.
