The layoffs will occur over the next year and a half. Those targeted will get severance packages and outplacement assistance.
East Hartford, Connecticut’s Pratt & Whitney manufactures aircraft engines used in both civil and military aircraft. It also manufactures gas turbines for industrial and power generation, marine turbines, and rocket engines. The company’s 38,500 employees support more than 9,000 customers in 180 countries around the world.
