258 Space Shuttle Workers Laid Off
Post Views 0The Orlando Sentinel has reported that 258 contract workers involved in the space shuttle program were officially laid off on Saturday. This comes just a few days after 70 security workers at the Cape Canaveral Air Force station lost their jobs. According to estimates, 7,000 jobs will be lost in the space program by the end of 2010.
Spokeswoman for United Space Alliance, Tracy Yates, has confirmed that the layoffs will “not adversely impact” the six remaining shuttle flights scheduled to take place before the program’s end.
