United Furniture Adding 100 Jobs in Mississippi

United Furniture is adding 100 jobs at its plant in Okolona, Mississippi. This comes as welcome news to Okolona, which has an unemployment rate of over 13%. In addition to new jobs, the company will spend $1.3 million in grant money to modernize its building, installing new sprinkler systems and doing repairs to the roof. The hiring for the 100 new jobs has already begun and the company will be requesting bids for the renovation work soon.

United Furniture manufactures upholstered stationary and motion sofas and recliners. The company employs 1400 people in Mississippi, and has additional facilities in North Carolina.
