You can learn ways to impress your employer so that you can get that job. There are things that will help your interview if you use it. You can make a bad impression on your interviewer if you failed to do some of the basic things. Interviewers are evaluating you during the interview. You want to take this time to sell yourself and talk about your qualification. You will want to convince the interviewer that you will be great for the job. If you show up at an interview late or if you didn’t have your resume, it could slow down the process.

Have a complete resume, cover letter and references. Employers are looking to see if you would have enough interest to type up a nice cover letter or resume. If you take the time to do this then they will see that you show interest in their company. The resume and cover letter tells a lot about you. If it has grammar problems or you did not have one prepared, they might not be impressing with you. They will think that you did not care enough to do it. If you type it up really well without any mistake and in special format, then it means you care enough to prepare it well.

Research the Company
You can answer questions better if you know more about the company. You cannot tell them that you are interested in their company if you do not know too much about it. Your interview will be better once you know a lot of facts about the company. You can google the company and read about it before your interview. Do you know what is really important to them? How would your skills benefit their company?

Be truthful on the application
You should be truthful on your application because they will send letters to your last employer or call EDD to verify your past work. They will also check your background, credit, and references. They will also check your college for your degree completion. If you lie, you can look less credible and it might not impress the interviewer.

Have a college degree or trade degree
Employer will most likely hire someone who has a college degree because it shows that you had the education for the job. It shows that you are well trained. It shows that you care enough to finish college. If you have free time, you should finish your college degree and make that your priority. Any kind of education will impress an employer. They like to hire someone with an education rather than without an education.

Build up job experiences
Job experiences are very important when you are applying for a job. They want to see that you know how to do your job without much training. Training can be time consuming and costly. They want someone who really know the job well. If you have many years of experience then you will do well in your job. You should focus on the same type of job so you can build your job experiences that can be related to each other. You should also avoid job-hopping. Employers like to hire people that are willing to stay with their company for a long time.

Follow up
Once you are done with the interview, you should follow up. This shows that you took initiative and you are interested in the job. You should always send a thank you letter or follow up with a thank you phone call.
Employers will give you a chance if you take the time to catch up with them.
