Ford Adding 1000 Jobs in Michigan
Post Views 0Ford Motor Company plans to invest $450 million to consolidate its electric car program in south east Michigan, bringing in approximately 1000 new jobs. The new jobs will primarily be in manufacturing lithium ion batteries, and some of these jobs are being brought to the US from Mexico.
An additional 8000 jobs will be saved by Ford’s announcement that in addition to the next generation of Ford Focus, the company is setting up to manufacture its next wave of hybrid and plug in hybrid cars in Wayne, Michigan.
This is very welcome news in Michigan, which had the nation’s highest unemployment rate in November at 14.7%.
