californiaflag_160x120California-based Ixia, which produces computer network hardware, is eliminating about 80 jobs, the company announced through a press release Thursday.

The layoffs are designed to eliminate duplicate functions that were created by Ixia’s acquisition of the N2X product line from Agilent last October. The cuts began at the beginning of the year and are expected to be completed by June. The company expects the restructuring to save approximately $11 million.
