Empire Aero Center to Lay Off 203 in New York

Empire Aero Center announced that it will lay off up to 203 employees by May. Empire Aero is an aircraft maintenance company located in Rome, New York. The company claims the lay offs are a result of poor economic conditions and that they will come in stages depending on workloads. There is currently an effort underway to find a new buyer for the company. If this does not happen the company will shut down and all employees will lose their jobs. Empire Aero is also working with local and state officials to obtain military contracts and keep the operation afloat.
