Navistar Defense To Add 400 Jobs in Mississippi

A $752-million contract awarded Navistar Defense LLC on Tuesday is expected to create 400 jobs at its assembly plant in West Point, Miss.

The contract was awarded by the U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command. It requires Navistar to provide 1,050 enhanced International MaxxPro Dash Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles. In addition to its West Point plant, Navistar will also produce the vehicles at its plant in Garland, Tex. The vehicles will start being delivered in April and the order is expected to be finished this summer.
