Monster Employment Index Shows Big Growth

In another bit of encouraging news on the jobs front, the Monster Employment Index jumped to 124 in February, a 10-point increase from January’s 114. The 124 rating is the highest since December 2008 and is the largest month-over-month increase since the index was created in 2003.

The index, compiled by online job service Monster.com, is a monthly analysis of U.S. online job demand.

Job advertisements increased in 15 of the 20 sectors the index studies and job listings also increased in every state across all Census regions. Alaska led all states in per-capita online job advertisements. Rounding out the top five are Delaware, Montana, Virginia and Rhode Island.
