Wind Turbine Plant Bringing 1,000 Jobs to Nevada
Post Views 0Nevada has been chosen as the site of a wind turbine manufacturing and assembly plant that’s expected to create 1,000 long-term manufacturing jobs. The facility will be built through a joint venture between China-based A-Power Energy Generation Systems and the U.S. Renewable Energy Group.
The New York Times reports a specific location for the facility has yet to be chosen, but the plant is slated to measure 320,000-square-feet and be operational by 2011. The project is expected to be funded privately and not through federal stimulus funds, the Times reports.
A-Power Energy Generation Systems is the largest provider of distributed power generation systems in China, according to its Web site. U.S. Renewable Group is a private equity firm focused exclusively on investing in renewable power, biofuels and clean technology infrastructure. It was founded in 2003 and has mobilized $574 million in capital commitments to invest in renewable energy.
