massachusettsflag_160x120The Boston Globe: The Massachusetts economy is improving at an ever quickening pace.  At the recent semi-annual conference of The New England Economic Partnership, experts forecasted a much speedier recovery than past anticipated, a recovery that could lead to an increase of nearly 200,000 jobs in the next five years.  Such a prediction means, according to the Globe, that the state would recover all jobs it lost in the recession by mid-2013.

Furthermore, when compared to other states in the nation, the recession appears to have been milder in Massachusetts, writes the Globe.  Unemployment rates have been lower.  The duration, on average, of the recession was shorter since the state entered it a full four months behind the rest of the nation.  The percentage of lost jobs was also a full point below the national average.
