Private Sector Jobs Increased by 13,000 in June
Post Views 0Payroll company Automatic Data Processing reported private sector jobs increased by just 13,000 in June, which was well below the expectations of most experts.
According to a Wall Street Journal report, economists had projected private-sector jobs to increase by 60,000 in June. In a sliver of good news, ADP revised its May numbers to show a gain of 57,000, which was up from the 55,000 that was first reported.
Large businesses, defined as having at least 500 employees, added 3,000 workers in June. Medium-sized businesses added 11,000 workers and small businesses, which employ fewer than 50 workers, cut payroll by 1,000.
The report also reveals service-sector jobs increased by 30,000 last month and factory jobs increased by 16,000.
