The South Florida Business Journal reports a subsidiary of Dycom Industries, Ivy H. Smith Co., is closing two facilities in Miami and laying off 107 workers.

Ivy H. Smith Co., a utility construction company based in Greensboro, N.C., revealed the news in a filing with the state. Officials for the company did not return calls from the Business Journal seeking comment.

Ivy H. Smith Co. is a specialized construction contractor that provides electrical services as well as telephone distribution construction for both public and private utilities. Ivy has provided services to the utility industry in the Southeastern United States since 1926 and also performs services for telecommunications carriers throughout the MidAtlantic United States. It is headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Dycom Industries, Inc. is a leading provider of specialty contracting services to the telecommunications and infrastructure industry. Its services include engineering, construction, maintenance and installation services for telecommunications providers.
