Cinram Manufacturing, one of Lackawanna County’s largest manufacturers, will issue layoff notices to an additional 310 employees, says the Times Tribune.  The job cuts will happen this December at Cinram’s Olyphant, Pennsylvania plant where it manufactures compact discs and DVDs.  The company let go yesterday an additional 150 workers at the facility.  Those job eliminations were announced this past May.

The steep cuts come as the result of the loss of an important contract with Warner Home Video.  The contract made up 28 percent of Cinram’s revenue.  However, Warner Bros. Entertainment announced in May that it would transfer the work to Paris-based Technicolor.  The transfer went into effect last week causing the loss of more manufacturing jobs in the region, which continues apace with the state average at about 14 percent.
