7164350ov15n3qmThe Republican Congressman from Kentucky’s 4th congressional district has signed on to be the chairman of the House Ways and Means Human Resources Subcommittee.

The Human Resources Subcommittee, once known as the Income Security and Family Support Subcommittee, rules over public assistances provisions of the Social Security Act. Among those issues, are assistance to needy families, child care, child and family services, child support, foster care, adoption, supplemental security income, and social services.

“I am honored to serve as Chairman of the Human Resources Subcommittee,” said Davis. “Americans have sent a clear message to Congress that they expect their government to be run with more effectiveness and transparency, and with less abuse and waste of taxpayer money. The programs overseen by this subcommittee will be held to that same standard.
