21st insurance_logo About 50 new jobs are coming to Phoenix, Arizona as 21st Century Insurance and Financial Services, auto insurance issuer and a member of the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies, announced a plan to expand its operations in the area. The firm officials said that they are planning to hire 50 more customer-service positions at their Phoenix headquarters in addition to the 70 employees hired last fall. Successful applicants will receive salaries ranging from $20,000 to $30,000 and will start work on February 21, 2011. The new jobs are expected to bring the firm’s Arizona manpower to 280.

Deborah West, director of Phoenix operations, said that the new jobs are brought about by the improvement in the auto-insurance market over the past months. “The expansion is being driven by office consolidations elsewhere around the country and by general growth in the firm’s auto-insurance business.” West added that 21st Century Insurance also plans to hire more positions, likely focused on sales, by the second quarter of the year. West said: “We prefer to have people with customer-contact experience, preferably in insurance and in call centers.”

21st Century Insurance will conduct an open-house application on January 20, 2011 at its headquarters located at 16001 N. 28th Ave. Applicants can also check the company’s website to apply and get further details regarding the new jobs.
