Penguin Windows Axes 160, Plans Another 200 Layoffs
Post Views 0Penguin Windows, a window replacement company in the Puget Sound area of Washington, laid off 160 workers yesterday and plans another 200 layoffs in the weeks ahead.
The company, which does home installations in Washington, Oregon, Maine, New Hampshire and Massachussetts, has struggled in Washington since a settlement was reached with the Attorney General in early 2010 over claims that Penguin mislead consumers. The company admitted no wrongdoing and the $25,000 fine was conditionally suspended but the company had to change some of its sales methods and spent close to $100 thousand in legal fees.
