Employment numbers were strong in February 2012 highlighting that the economic recovery is well on its way. The numbers were strong despite the fact the government has slashed 6,000 jobs which is significantly less than the rate they cut jobs in 2011. Jobless rate is at a 3-year low and has revised January’s numbers to be higher. Although this is the first time in six months the employment rate did not fall, but that is partly because more people are now looking for jobs. It is thought that the rebounding of the economy will be good for the president’s re-election hopes. The biggest increase has been in manufacturing. The article highlights recovery statistics for other sectors as well. Band of America specialist is a bit cautious with the news and feels the recovery over the next year will be mixed.
