TV Screens Remain Blank Amid Dispute in Greece

Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras made the decision to close ERT and fire the entire staff, consisting of 2,700 employees on June 11. State TV channels are still down, and the Greek high court has made it clear that while the government had a right to shut down ERT, they needed to find a suitable replacement rather than shutting down all public TV signals. There will be a meeting between Samaras and his partners on Wednesday to discuss new broadcaster options.
