Even though you might have walked off into the sunset and are enjoying retirement, not every retired person can find peace in not working any longer. When this happens, they begin to look into returning to work in some capacity. This could include returning to the company from which they retired to work part-time, or even just one day per week. Or, they consider finding a part-time job elsewhere.

The part-time job could come at a golf course, a retail store or even a fast-food restaurant. It could be anything that interests them and gets them back into the job force. Make an effort to schedule an interview with an employer with whom you have no interest in working for so you can re-learn your interview skills. The last thing you want to do is go on your first interview in some 15 years with a company you really want to work for and it does not go well at all.

You absolutely need to update, or even completely re-write, your resume. The resume and cover letter you used 10 years ago, even five years ago, is out-of-date.
