Silicon Valley Unemployment Drops to 10.9%

One year ago, the rate was 5%. California’s rate is also 10.9%; and 8.6% for the nation.
In the last 12 months, Silicon Valley’s total workforce lost 39,800 jobs.
Silicon Valley is the southern part of the San Francisco Bay Area. The term refers to the region’s large number of silicon chip innovators and manufacturers. Silicon Valley continues to be the nation’s leading high-tech hub because of its large number of engineers and venture capitalists. Geographically, Silicon Valley encompasses the northern part of the Santa Clara Valley and adjacent communities.
