Labor Department Announces $190 Million For Green Jobs
Post Views 0Today the Department of Labor announced that $190 million in grants for green jobs training will be distributed to organizations in 34 states. These grants are a part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The purpose of these funds is to train workers for jobs in energy efficiency and the renewable energy sector. The rewards range from $2 million to $6 million and will target under served communities. These communities include veterans, at risk youth, underemployed individuals, people with disabilities, and those with a criminal record. California and Nevada, two states hit hardest by high unemployment rates, each received $6 million in grants.
