KV Pharmaceutical to Fire 700

St. Louis, Missouri’s KV Pharmaceutical, which stopped making and selling all its products last month, will cut about 700 jobs.

The cuts will include a combination of terminations and layoffs. In 2008, KV Pharma employed 1,590 employees.

The firm, which has been facing several manufacturing issues and a series of class-action lawsuits, said it expects to recall some employees when production and shipment of approved products resume.
