South Carolina Job Fair Attracts 8,000 Job Seekers

Eight thousand people showed up for a job fair at Greenville, South Carolina’s Haywood Mall on Saturday.

The event offered more than 1,500 job openings, but applicants outnumbered the jobs by about 5-to-1.

Organizers said they hope to put together another similar event in the next few months.

According to a local job placement center, about 22,000 people in Greenville County have recently lost jobs due to the ailing economy.
