Amgen Genetic engineering giant Amgen is cutting 100 jobs at its drug manufacturing facility in Seattle.

The biotechnology firm has 17,000 employees worldwide.

Amgen is merging the clinical drug trial work at its Bothell, Washington facility with operations at its company headquarters in Thousand Oaks, California.

The laid-off employees can reapply for other positions in the company.
