Mercury MerCruiser Lays Off 135

Mercury MerCruiser has laid off 135 people at its boat engine plant in Stillwater, Oklahama.

This week 120 hourly workers were told to hit the streets by Wisconsin-based Mercury Marine. Last week, 15 of the company’s salaried jobs were cut.

The company did not announce severance packages. The layoffs leave about 200 salaried and 200 hourly employees at the plant.

The Stillwater plant has already had been hit with three layoffs in the past year.
