IBM to Cut Thousands in Europe

International Business Machines plans to cut thousands of staff in the UK, Germany and Ireland as it shifts jobs to eastern Europe, China, India and South America.
Job reductions have already been carried out in western Europe and more will be made within months, according to union Alliance@IBM.
Indian workers at IBM earn 10% of what US employees make.
IBM declined to comment.
