Gardner DenverQuincy, Illinois’ Gardner Denver will move its manufacturing operations from Wisconsin to Louisiana.

The Monroe, Louisiana plant, which manufactures pumps and compressors, now employs 70. At least 300 jobs will be added by 2011.

The new jobs average $37,000 a year plus benefits, which in Louisiana is a lot, I guess. Up to 45 of the jobs will be management positions.

Governor Bobby Jindal negotiated with Gardner Denver to swipe the jobs from Wisconsin. The state gave the firm a performance-based grant of up to $9 million for relocation expenses.
