Harley-Davidson to Cut Hundreds More Jobs

Harley-Davidson, which in January announced it would cut 1,100 jobs and close three facilities, will eliminate up to 400 additional hourly production positions.

The company reported a 37% decline in Q1 net income; it has been reducing production for the past year.

The Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based Harley-Davidson Motor Company manufactures heavyweight motorcycles designed for highway cruising. The company attracts a loyal brand community, with licensing of the Harley-Davidson logo accounting for almost 5% of the company’s net revenue. Harley-Davidson supplies many American police forces with their motorcycle fleets.
