Sacramento May Cut 387 Unfunded Jobs

The city of Sacramento, California’s proposed budget calls for cuts in programs, services — and up to 387 jobs.

The budget eliminates a $50 million deficit in the city’s General Fund. The City Council must vote on the budget.

Sacramento is the capital of California, and the seat of Sacramento County. Located along the Sacramento River and just south of the American River’s confluence in California’s expansive Central Valley, it is the seventh-largest city in California. With a 2007 estimated population of 460,242, it is also California’s second largest inland city.
