US Department of Defense Cyber Crime CenterThe US Department of Defense is conducting a national competition and talent search to help find 10,000 computer security experts, including 200 jobs with the DoD itself.

The DoD’s Defense Cyber Crime Center will only consider applicants from the continental US — it cannot afford to fly in applicants from Alaska or Hawaii.

Challenge participants submit solutions to IT security issues. The winners will be flown to a conference in St. Louis, Missouri.

There is also a competition for high school students.

The Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3) is a US Department of Defense agency that provides digital forensics support to the DoD and to other law enforcement agencies. The DC3 handles criminal, counterintelligence, counter-terrorism, and fraud investigations from the Defense Criminal Investigative Organizations, DoD counterintelligence groups, and various Inspector General groups. The Air Force Office of Special Investigations is the executive agent of DC3.
