Department of DefenseThe US Government will spend $10.4 million to expand its radar testing facilities at the Tobyhanna Army Depot in Pennsylvania, creating 160 jobs.

The expansion will include a new radar test pad, test ranges, a 330′ test tower and a testing station.

Construction will begin early next year, and be completed by July 2011.

The Tobyhanna Army Depot is a logistics center for the US Defense Department, specializing in electronic systems. It is located near Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania. Established in 1953 as Tobyhanna Signal Depot, today it is the DoD’s leading facility for the repair, upgrade and integration of Command, Control, Computer, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance systems for all branches of the Armed Forces.
