Savannah River SiteThe Savannah River Site will hire 3,000 new workers. The Obama Administration is giving the SRS $1.6 billion from the stimulus funds.

Thousands of new employees will be put to work to reduce the site’s environmental footprint, and accelerating the completion of planned projects. A majority of the jobs are temporary, providing work for 30 months.

A job fair will be held in Allendale, South Carolina on June 24th.

The Savannah River Site is a nuclear materials processing center in the state of South Carolina, located on land in Aiken Allendale and Barnwell Counties adjacent to the Savannah River, 25 miles from Augusta, Georgia. The site was built during the 1950s to refine nuclear materials for deployment in nuclear weapons.
